Russell Hart: Vivienne | An Post Gallery

TULCA presents a live electronic sound performance by Russell Hart as part of the 2026 festival programme.

This new work presents samples taken from the jukebox in Vivienne Westwood’s SEX shop boutique which opened on the Kings Road in London in 1974. Sounds, grooves and words contained within this collection of 7” records will be sampled, reworked and represented as a live electronic sound performance - duration twenty minutes (approx) This starting point for this work is the idea that scientifically sound fades into nothingness but metaphorically, it never really stops - it just becomes part of everything.

Russell Hart
Russell Hart studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art before moving to Belfast to complete an MFA in Fine Art. He holds an MA in Visual Arts from IADT in Dublin. His work includes curating a 7” record label, live audio performances and presentations, instrument design and manufacture, artworks, exhibitions, a series of audio pressings on both vinyl and Compact Disc and poster design. His work has been shown both nationally and internationally including The Irish Museum of Modern Art, the pages of WIRE magazine and WFMU (America’s longest running freeform radio station).
