Marking fifty years since punk emerged as a disruptive cultural force, TULCA 2026: Veruca Salt considers what it means to know who you are and know what you want. Curated by Sinéad Keogh, the festival approaches punk not as a fixed historical style, but as a living method rooted in DIY culture, collective action and self-determination.
At TULCA Gallery, the exhibition brings together film, works on paper and archival material by Dolorosa de la Cruz, Vivienne Dick, Johnny McMahon, Garry O’Neill and Sara R Phillips, alongside material from the RTÉ Archives. Moving between No Wave film, Irish youth-culture archives, personal memory and contemporary reflections on language and identity, the gallery connects punk’s historical and archival strands with practices that continue to question received values and prescribed roles.
