From the Bogs of Aughiska

Dark ambient black metal alchemists FROM THE BOGS OF AUGHISKA hail from the harsh coastline of the West of Ireland, drawing their inspiration from Ireland’s bleak environment and its rich history and culture. FTBOA’s debut was released in 2010 and received critical acclaim, leading to their first live shows in the same year supporting Norwegian Legends Ulver.

In 2011 FTBOA released a split with Ukraine’s Dark Ages (feat Roman Sayenko of Drudkh) the theme of this release was the Famine in both countries.

2013’s successor ‘Roots Of This Earth Within My Blood’ took the band’s Dark Ambient sound into a much bleaker direction and features guest appearance from Irish storytelling legend Eddie Lenihan. The album was voted album of the year by Bizarre Magazine.

‘The Fenian Ram’ EP was released in 2016 and paid homage to Liscannor born engineering legend John P Holland - the man who invented the submarine.

FTBOA are known for their fierce live performance and have shared stages with the likes of Anaal Nathrakh, Arcturus, Dragged Into Sunlight, Solstafir, Wardruna playing various international festivals including Amplifiest, Eistnaflug, Inferno and Incineration.

The band released their third full-length album ‘Mineral Bearing Veins’ at the end of last year.
